Onwards and Forwards in 2007!

It's a fresh new year and a fresh new project for Carleen as she takes the first half of the year away from the public eye to concentrate on writing new material for her next studio album. Work on the recording and production of this album is planned to start in the coming months so you have a brand new record to look forward to, hopefully by the end of the year!

Due to this demanding schedule of preparation, Carleen is currently doing very few public appearances. However, if you're lucky enough to be in the region of Singapore in mid-March then you 'll be able to find her playing just two shows as part of the Mosaic Music Festival. Please check the gig dates page for full details.

Soul Providence is Well Received:

September saw the first releases of Carleen's new album 'Soul Providence' (Dome Records for Europe and Victor Entertainment for Japan) and is being very well received by the industry and fans alike, with some great reviews already surfacing, including a 4-star offering from MOJO!

"...Splendid fourth album from James Brown's God-daughter... an excellent new record featuring noteworthy cameos from stentorian soul singer Jocelyn Brown and the Modfather himself, Paul Weller, who joins Anderson on a soulful version of the Leon Ware-penned 'Wanna Be Where You Are'.  Anderson's own material is even more arresting, especially a pulsating 'Gotta Believe in The Future' and 'Parting The Waters'." New Album 'Soul Providence' Released:

It’s been a busy few weeks for Carleen... Early September saw the release of her new album across Europe (on Dome Records) and along side this began the demanding schedule of promotion, press and touring the UK. The release date for Japan is also this week, on the 22nd September, out on Victor Entertainment.

The album, titled 'Soul Providence', features guest appearances by Paul Weller and Jocelyn Brown and is being very well received by fans and crowds, and has already had some great reviews:

"With unsolicited advice ringing in her ears from all and sundry that she should go ahead and make the great neo-soul album she's undoubtedly capable of, Carleen has exceeded expectations on her new album... It's more optimistic, upbeat and plain funkier than anything she's done since the days of 'Mama Said'... Cut at Paul Weller's studio in Surrey and with a live band to give it a warmth to match her sensitive vocals, it's her best album so far, and you know how good that makes it..." ECHOES

"'Parting The Waters' is one of the album's high spots, benefiting from counterpoint duetting with the great Jocelyn Brown... Other standouts include the Latin-esque romping of 'My Door Is Open' and the breezy, beaty 'Gotta Believe In The Future'. Both are lifted by Incognito's horn section and should please the modern soul brigade." BLUES & SOUL
